Left handed guitarists all over the world have always had fewer options regarding availability of left handed guitars. As lefties, we all know this. Either the popular models by major manufacturers were never offered in left hand in the first place, or in recent times several manufacturers have simply stopped making left handed guitars altogether.

Gaskell Guitars began in Australia by New Zealand-born left handed guitarist Kevin Gaskell, initially out of frustration over the lack of availability of popular electric guitars in left hand.

Kevin made his first left hand guitar in 1992, but it was not until 2006 that Gaskell Guitars officially went into full production starting with a few factory-made models that were always unavailable as left handed versions elsewhere. This launched the name internationally and today hundreds of players around the world now own and play Gaskell guitars and basses.

In 2010 Kevin joined forces with Australia’s top luthier and custom guitar builder to establish fully the Gaskell Custom Shop. Gaskell Custom Shop left handed guitars and basses are world class instruments built to the highest specs and quality. They are without doubt the very best left handed guitars in the world.

Due to uncontrollable changes in the market it became necessary to cease factory production in 2013.

Through the Gaskell Custom Shop, left handed guitarists and bassists have more options, more choices in obtaining their dream guitar. It’s hard enough as it is for lefties. Why should you settle for less?
