I'm a guitar teacher, and I've been recommending Matons to my pupils for many years. I love them! And I have a pupil who bought one of these a little while ago. The great thing about this guitar is the price - a hand-made in Australia guitar for less than $800! Reviews in guitar magazines praise them too. However, I usually recommend going to the next level up; the 325, if people can afford it. It is over $300 more, but if you can scrape up the extra cash I think it is worth it; the 325 is just a better guitar all round. That isn't to say the 225 is not a good guitar, just that the 325 is better - as you'd expect! What I'm saying is that, if you can stretch to the 325, it is worth the extra. If you can't -- well I've still rated it as a 5!
